It’s my birthday tomorrow and I have a pretty busy day planned so today I would like to say thank you to;

Claire, Iola, Alex, Kathryn, Jemma, Benjie, James, Bernadette, Matt, Simone, Lindsey and Gem.

And probably Gareth for setting it up.

You beautiful people have helped me get the best birthday present ever! As soon as we can sort out a date I’ll be FEEDING LEMURS!

LEMURS!

I’m so excited.

I will post a full and detailed blog about the wonders of lemurs and feeding them. And there will be pictures. Many pictures.

Also I’ve lost over 50lbs and counting. Woop woop.

A few months ago my friend Lauren said she was going to see Matilda and asked if Gareth and I would like to go. We both loved Roald Dahl growing up and as the songs were written by Tim Minchin it sounded like we were on to a winner.

I don’t even want to think about how much money this has cost me.

The show was bad. I can’t really put my finger on what it was but I didn’t enjoy it. It took the worst parts of the film and removed some of the best bits of the book. The Miss Trunchbull character was totally wrong but Matilda, her parents and Miss Honey were all perfect. The stage was genius with bits that popped up to make desks and different rooms. The songs don’t stick in your head and nothing really made me laugh. Such a disappointment.

Kill me dead.

Literally.

Fine, figuratively.

I’m driving to Southampton 3 nights this week for some live musicy goodness. I’m working most of the days in between so sleeping and eating are going to become lower priority activities for the next 4 days. This does mean I may slip up once or twice for convenience sake which annoys me but I’m too lazy to think of anything else to do!

This fact makes my sacrifices today even more noble.

For the flimsiest of reasons we were all given Wispa chocolate bars at work, I gave mine away like a good girl and then when I got home Gareth was all like ‘I’ll buy chinese for dinner’. Pffft, I didn’t give up free chocolate just to ruin it all with delicious chinese.

Gammon and eggs is the meal of winners. Also homemade rhubarb jelly. Yum.

That’s me that is.

Totally lame.

There’s no excuse for this at all, I just can’t ever remember to write a post! Oh well.

Since I last updated I’ve passed 2 little milestones. I passed the 3 stone mark and dropped below the next stone in weight, I’m under 17st people!

My body is doing all sorts of weird womanly things that I don’t agree with and they are affecting my weight loss but we’re still on a downward trend so I’m not complaining too much. It is making the urge to be sterilised stronger though, if anyone fancies funding that operation let me know!

I’ve decided to set myself a mini goal to focus on. I want to have lost the 4th stone by the end of February. Right now that’s 11lbs and 26 days away. I reckon I can do it. Maybe you guys can help keep me on track?

I know more people are reading the blog now, it would be great to see some comments from any of you (and of course keep yours coming Benjie). Please let me know what you think about the blog. I’m open to suggestions

Oh wow I am not so good with the regular updates!

Well, I did my first week of Attack phase and lost everything I put on over Christmas, then my first Cruise week took me down another 4 lbs which is not too shabby at all! I’ve now realised that I am just 2lbs away from having lost 3 stone.

Weird things are starting to happen. I can feel all my ankle bones when I put socks on and my arms and wrists seem really hard. I’ve clearly been too fat for too long if being able to feel bones is newsworthy but damn it, I’m pleased!

So there have been a couple of slip ups in the last week. I ate some chips on Monday and I’ve had some sort of chocolate almost everyday BUT my activity level has been much increased. Nothing that can really be described as a workout but I’ve walked round London, played at Playzone with the very lovely Laura and Iola as well as wandering around with equally lovely Emma and her pony. Anything is better than sitting on my arse all weekend so thanks guys.

Lastly, this week we have to say goodbye to Graham who is cruelly abandoning me to travel round the world until June. Quite frankly I’m jealous and hope he brings me back lots of presents. I’ll be reading his blog to keep an eye on him and his adventures.

I am back on this now. Started the diet properly this morning with my oat bran ration and some lovely protein.

Steak and eggs for dinner is the way to go!

In it for the long haul now, 6 stone left to lose and I can do this.

I want cheese

Hello reader.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a fun-filled and fantastic festive period. I know I did.

In the spirit of the season I’ve decided to set out my resolutions for 2012, perhaps this will help me stick to them.

1- Lose more weight. I did well at this in the last 3 months, Christmas has cause a bit of a hiccup but I’m still doing well. I’ll be back on the diet as of Tuesday and aim to lose another 5-6 stone this year.

2- Sort out my finances. Seriously. I’m 25, I have a decent paying job and no real demands like children or crippling debts and yet I run out of money nearly every month. This year, that’s getting sorted out.

3- Stop being a bore. I have a tendency to go on about things a bit much and no-one really cares. Maybe it would improve some of my relationships, not to mention stop the argument that I protest too much about not wanting babies!

Well, that’s me for the year. How about you?

Why do I even bother improving my lot? I can’t stick to anything and never succeed when I really try at something.

I’ll be fat and stuck in a shit job for the rest of my life with absolutely no meaning.

Friday night, our beloved cat, Jeff, was hit and killed by a car outside our house. He was a damn fine cat and will always be remembered for his many qualities and eccentricities.

This had some unfortunate repercussions for the diet though as we started headlong into a weekend of binge eating and even a bit of drinking. We both only lost 1lb each over the whole week which is appalling. I decided to jump start the weight loss again with 3 days of pure protein, abstaining from vegetables and bad food, to make up for all the cheating. This has not gone well. I’m dreading weighing myself this weekend. Our bathroom scales have died as well so I can’t even keep track like I used to. Oh dear.

Someone tell me how skinny I’m looking to cheer me up?

I reached a bit of a milestone today. I officially crossed the 30lbs lost mark.

Wow.

According to this website that’s the same weight as the amount of cheese eaten by an average American every year. That’s not a very helpful statistic to help you visualise a weight so if it helps, I’m closer to having lost a cinder block in weight now.
